Hello Let's party! This is a challenge - really an invitation to Church schools across the diocese hold a Valentine's Day party in their parish in support of First Nation education and to learn about Shannen's Dream and the UN's Convention on the Rights of a Child. The First Nation Child and Family Caring Society invites you to: Celebrate Have a Heart Day this February, and stand with First Nations children for the same chance to grow up safely at home, get a good education, be healthy, and proud of their cultures. It is about caring Canadians working together to ensure First Nations children have proper services that make them feel proud of who they are. By hosting a party you can provide opportunities to learn about First Nation education, help by sending a Valentine’s Day card or letter supporting Have a Heart Day to the Prime Minister and your Member of Parliament, or by spreading the word through social media like YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook. Explore the Have a Heart Day website for more information, to send an e-Valentine, or to order Have a Heart Valentine’s cards, posters, bookmarks, and buttons! As well, the First Nation Child and Family Caring Society invites you to: Have a Heart Day on Parliament Hill in Ottawa will be on Tuesday, February 10, 2015. Hello I was part of the group in the kitchen of Epiphany's Church Hack and we had an amazing time, all 12 of us, making sweet things to eat for Centre 454's Christmas feast. It was a wonderful time where we share great conversations and lots of laughs as we rolled, cut and decorated cookies! We had one first time to Epiphany person who jumped right in and made cookies and said that he had never done anything similar at any other Church! We were all called back to celebrate the Eucharist together, and it was very meaningful. After the service it was fun to talk to other groups and hear and see what they accomplished. It was a wonderful Advent event-preparing us all for the true meaning of Christmas caring for each other and celebrating God's great gift to us all.
